This year our work bond procedures will match how other organizations handle work bonds. Many of you are probably familiar with the process through soccer, baseball, and football, to name a few. Our work bond process will now only apply to the current year, meaning we would no longer be issuing a credit for the following year, making the process much cleaner as well.
Continuing in the 2018 season, each membership will be responsible to submit an additional check in the amount of $100 for a work bond for the season. This check should be post-dated to October 1, 2018 and will be held on file. When one family member, eighteen or older, works one three-hour shift on a designated pool work day or other arranged time, the check will be returned to you. If the work is not performed, the check will be deposited by Somerset Hills in September. Look for an email or check the website for work days.
Now don’t panic. There are multitudes of easy ways to fulfill your work bond obligation. You can organize a social event, plant flowers, weed the gardens, assist John T in some exciting project, spring clean-up, help set up the pool for the season, or help to close it down. We also need to fix the shuffleboard this year. You can even bring your own idea to the board on an improvement you might want to organize – we’d love to hear it!
